De-bloat In Just One Day! 8 Secret Tips Revealed!

Feeling bloated?

Try these tips to get rid of bloating now!

I am so excited to share my 8 tips to de-bloat in one day! With the Holiday season here it’s very hard to keep a flat belly and not feel bloated with all this Holiday food. Sadly, all this festive food is very high in calories and in high in fat. Just de-bloat in one day!  I am very happy to share with you my Best TIPS and Secrets to keep a flat belly during the Holiday season.

1. Water

clean-clear-coldYes, water is one of my first tips.

If you keep your body hydrated, you are less likely to have issues of the food not getting flushed and remaining in your belly.

Make sure you are consuming enough water throughout the day. The daily recommendation for men is 3.7 liters and Women should aim for 2.7 liters per day according to the National Academies of Sciences and this includes food and drink. Before each meal I always have a glass of water, sometimes thirst can feel like hunger. By drinking water, it will help you to feel fuller and keep you Hydrated.

Avoid gassy beverages such as sodas.

Carbonated drinks contain gas, the bubbles from those carbonated beverages deliver air to your belly and might make you bloated and feeling uncomfortable. Plus a lot of them are loading with sugar, not a good option when we are trying to lose weight or to de-bloat.

Another great tip that I do is to add some lemon or a piece of fresh fruit like strawberries to add some flavor to it.

This trick has helped me a lot as there is a taste to it, we are more likely to enjoy drinking more.

2. Cut Down on Salty Food

By eating food that high in sodium can cause your body to hold water and give you the effect of puffiness.

Do you remember the last time you had Pizza?

The next day feeling like you gained weight or feeling heavy, this kind of effect is what food high in sodium does.

The best way is to stay away from foods that are high in sodium which is hard during the Holiday season.

What I do:

1. I always pick a healthy option, like veggies, and double up on that and have a smaller serving of the unhealthy dish of my choice like pie. That way you still get a taste of it but would not stuff your face and regret it after.

2. I always eat my greens first (Veggies or Salad ), then finish with the that Holiday dish.

3. I never go to a Holiday party on an empty stomach. I always have a small meal before at home and drink lots of water to keep me full. That way I am less likely I will feel the necessity to fill up a huge plate like I haven’t eaten for 5 days! ;D Can you relate?

3. Add Asparagus for Your Veggies

Asparagus is a green superfood and a natural diuretic.

It’s rich in potassium which can help you to regulate the fluid balance of your body and flush out the salt you have consumed.

It’s my number one GoTo during the Holiday season or before a photoshoot

My favorite way to make them is to steam them first to remove the hardness and then sauté (or grill) them at the end with a small amount of olive oil.

I like to add a little bit of pink Himalayan salt and mixed herbs.

4. Have a Cup of Dandelion Tea at Night

Dandelion is another diuretic due to the high potassium in it.

Having a cup or two of Dandelion tea at night can help you shed excess water caused by a high sodium intake from the Holiday food.

5. Exercise More

By exercising more it will stimulate the blood flow of your body and can help your digestive system to wake up the process.

What I like to do after a heavy meal is to get a quick little HIIT session. Wait at least 2 hours for the food to digest.

Even a walk can help too. #MoveMore

6. Have a Cup of Peppermint Tea

Sipping some peppermint tea can help you regulate the inflammation and also aids in relaxing the digestive tract which makes it easier for the food to pass through.

7. Add some Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) to your Water

Apple Cider Vinegar is one of my favorite tools, not only because I love the taste but it contains so many benefits.

It does boost the de-bloating process.

A lot of people that have gained weight in the abdominal area is due to digestion issues, hormonal balance and bloating.

The Apple Cider Vinegar will promote a better digestion, balance PH level in the body, and will kill any viruses and unwanted bacteria.

The ACV helps increase stomach acid (which improves the digestion) and helps with your body absorption of food.

I usually mix one tablespoon of ACV with eight ounces of water every morning.

8. Add Cucumbers to your Water

Cucumbers are high in silica, caffeic acid and vitamin C, which can reduce swelling and helps the prevention of water retention.

Have you seen people add cucumbers to their eyes to de-puff?

Well, it will help your stomach to de-bloat too.

My magic trick, I will add a few slices of cucumbers to my lemon water and Apple Cider Vinegar. I will have this drink anytime throughout the day with some ice, and if you love it as much as me, you can even have two tablespoons instead of one. That’s a quick drink to fix and it tastes yummy.

That’s how to de-bloat in a day!
I hope you enjoyed this blog.

Also, this does not mean to deprive yourself during the Holidays.

You can still enjoy the food but with moderation. Do not skip meals as it will make your blood sugar drop and can, later on, have an effect of making you over eat. Like I said above, “Double on your veggies or greens on your plate, add a small piece of the holiday pie or meal to have the taste.” And you can always be the friend that brings healthy food to the party. I always get my way like that, living in Miami you can imagine the Holiday food we have with all my latin friends. So, de-bloat now, and enjoy~

Love, Anais xoxo
